Dr. Pedro Irazoqui teaches and does research on bioelectricity and the design of biological implants and neural prosthetic devices using modular application-specific integrated circuits. Dr. Irazoqui’s research presents new opportunities for treatment of neural disorders including epilepsy, spinal cord injury, and glaucoma. Prior to joining Purdue, Dr. Irazoqui was a research scientist in Duke University’s electrical engineering department and was vice president of integrated circuit development at Triangle Biosystems Inc., Research Triangle Park, NC.
