Michael Kelsey

Michael Kelsey is a rhythmic-inspired guitarist and performance artist who incorporates many musical genres. Throughout a performance Michael may make use of technology, improvisational skills, objects in the room, and audience interaction to create a musical experience for the senses.  Born and raised in Lafayette, Indiana, he began his musical journey in a number of successful area bands as lead guitarist or bassist; he later opened a successful recording studio, which after five years he retired from to embark on a solo music career.  Michael was a finalist in Guitar Player Magazine’s national competition and winner of Guitar Center’s “Guitarmageddon.”  He also took part in Eric Clapton’s Crossroads 2004 performance with guitar legends Santana and Steve Vai.  He has toured nationally with Blind Melon and Dishwalla and has opened shows for The Doobie Brothers, 38 Special, Rodrigo and Gabriella, and the California Guitar Trio.
