With so little time until TEDxPurdueU 2013, I find myself dealing with the bittersweet feelings of stress, excitement, and anticipation. We began organizing this event in June of 2012. Now, our entire team is working on overdrive, and we are in the final stretch! As director, my hands are in many pots, but currently my heart and soul is invested into our speakers. Myself and speaker coordinator, Paul Rosenberger and his team, have spent the last two weeks listening to most of our 21 speakers rehearse their talks. This is hands-down the most exciting part of organizing a TEDx event! I have gotten goosebumps several times hearing their stories, and it was only a rehearsal! Each speaker we have invited has a unique and fascinating story to tell. I am very impressed with the range of topics we will hear about; from the future of space exploration, to aging dogs, to football concussions, to how art creates inspiration. Our 2013 program is full of speakers that are so diverse and talented, I can’t wait to hear their stories on the TEDx stage, and share them with our attendees. I am confident that several will be featured on TED.com and shared with the rest of the world. Make sure to get a ticket now so you can share this experience with us!
