TEDxPurdueU 2014 Breakout Sessions: “D” for Design
October 18, 2013 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
In the spirit of showcasing truly disruptive ideas and engaging our audience in more intimate settings beyond our annual conference, TEDxPurdueU sought to create a recurring series of events with an entirely new atmosphere. This season, our team is proud to present “TEDxPurdueU Breakout Sessions”.
The 2014 iteration of this series will focus on the three pillars of TED: Technology, Entertainment and Design, with each of the three events highlighting Purdue faculty, alumni and students who are true innovators within one of these fields. Live speakers will combine with TED talks in small, community-centric settings to spark deep discussion and an examination of the critical issues at the forefront of our highly dynamic culture.
“D” for Design will be hosted on October 18th at 6:30p in ME 1130, and will feature live talks from:
Petrônio Bendito – Associate Professor of Visual Communication Design, Purdue University | Josh Miles – Designer, Author, Strategist | Greg Stillinger – President, Purdue Makers Club
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the speakers’ (as well as their own) perceptions of design through one-on-one interactions following the talks. Light refreshments will be served at the networking reception hosted afterwards in the attached Hollander Atrium.
